Walking Heron

This original acrylic painting captures a grey heron walking slowly through shallow water, surrounded by the quiet atmosphere of its natural habitat.

I was drawn to the elegant movement of the bird, with its long legs stepping carefully through the water and its characteristic silhouette rising above the surrounding reeds. The composition focuses on the simplicity of the heron's form and the sense of stillness that surrounds it.

Herons have become a recurring subject in my acrylic work. I am fascinated by their elegance, patience and quiet presence. Together with Grey Heron and Fishing Heron, this painting explores three different moments in the life of this remarkable bird: standing, fishing and moving through the water.
