There is something about herons that has always fascinated me: their stillness, elegance and extraordinary patience.
Grey Heron captures one of those quiet moments when the bird seems completely absorbed in its surroundings. Standing among the water and reeds, the heron becomes part of the landscape, calm and almost motionless, yet full of presence.
In this painting, I wanted the bird to be the unquestionable protagonist while keeping the surrounding landscape soft and atmospheric. The elongated shape of the heron, the reflections and the natural tones create a sense of balance and tranquillity, inspired by the peaceful waters and birdlife I often encounter in Sweden and in Spain.
This painting also marks the beginning of my exploration of herons as an artistic subject, a theme that has gradually developed into a small series within my acrylic work.
