Imaginary Places II is the second original acrylic painting in my Imaginary Places series, a collection of abstract landscapes inspired by places that exist somewhere between memory, imagination and dreams.
In this piece, soft neutral tones of beige, dusty pink and grey create a quiet, almost misty central space, surrounded by heavily textured areas that suggest rocks, cliffs or the edges of an unknown landscape. Touches of metallic gold run through the textured surface and around the edges of the painting, catching and reflecting the light as the viewing angle changes.
Unlike a traditional landscape, there is no defined destination or recognizable place. Shapes are intentionally left open to interpretation, inviting the viewer to discover their own landscape within the composition.
The contrast between the calm, softly blended center and the more dramatic textured edges gives the painting a sense of depth, as though looking through an opening into another world.
