Inspired by the Mediterranean coast, this original acrylic painting captures the movement and freedom of seagulls flying above the sea.
The composition brings together a bright blue sky, moving clouds and textured waves meeting the shore, while the seagulls cross the scene at different heights. I wanted to capture the feeling of looking out towards the Mediterranean on a clear day, with the sound of the sea and birds constantly moving between sky and water.
The textured surface of the sea contrasts with the open simplicity of the sky, creating a painting filled with movement while still preserving the peaceful atmosphere I associate with the Mediterranean coast.
This artwork is the first of three paintings in my Mediterranean Seagulls series, exploring different moments and perspectives of these birds along the coast.
