This original acrylic painting continues my exploration of the Mediterranean coast, focusing on the feeling of openness and freedom created by a wide blue sky meeting the sea.
A flock of seagulls moves across the horizon while one bird remains closer to the water, creating a quiet contrast between distance and presence. The composition is intentionally spacious, allowing the sky to become an important part of the painting and giving the scene a sense of calm and endless space.
The richly textured sea adds movement and depth beneath the softer sky, reflecting the changing blues of Mediterranean waters.
This artwork is the second painting in my Mediterranean Seagulls series, a collection inspired by the sea, coastal landscapes and the constant presence of birds along the Mediterranean coast.
