Inspired by the peaceful countryside of Tuscany, this original watercolor captures a winding road lined with cypress trees leading towards traditional houses among the rolling Italian hills.
The winding road naturally draws the eye through the landscape, while the cypress trees, warm fields and terracotta roofs create the unmistakable atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside. I wanted to keep the composition light and simple, using soft washes of green, ochre and blue to preserve the transparency and spontaneity of watercolor.
This piece is part of my exploration of Mediterranean and Italian landscapes, places that continue to inspire me through their light, colors and timeless character.
